With the continuous development of science and technology and the increase ofcomprehensive national strength, competition between nations becomes increasingly fierceand talents are bound to become the object for all countries. As the last phrase of collegeeducation, postgraduates play an irreplaceable role in talent cultivation. For the present, thesize of postgraduates in our country is becoming larger and larger. Universities are keepingimproving their professional level, but the enhancement on physical training and theawareness of lifelong physical exercise should be improved.This paper targets at postgraduates in average colleges as research object, by using themethod of literature, expert interview, questionnaire, experimental method, data statistics,logic analysis and tracking survey method, practice and analysis the opening of sports club toteaching among postgraduates in average colleges, trying to find the proper methods whichadapt well to postgraduates for lifelong exercise and based on this, proposing some beneficialcountermeasures and suggestions to club-type teaching. It has realistic significant todeepening the teaching reform, perfecting and developing quality-oriented education ofpostgraduates. The results are as follows:1. It is not perfect and systematic in theory of club-oriented teaching for physical educationof postgraduates. There isn’t clear outline of theory and doesn’t have enough supports topractice.2. By comparing the found, the club-oriented teaching method can attract more interests ofpostgraduates than the normal teaching system, and also makes postgraduates activelytake part in the practice.3. Though the contrastive experiment, we can find that no matter the skills or the physicalhealth, the postgraduates who attend in club are superior the normal-method teachingpostgraduates. It confirms that club-oriented teaching is feasible.4. The club-oriented teaching method is well popular among postgraduates, but it needsfurther explore in teaching content, teaching methods and evaluation.5. The common problem among colleges is the fund uses in sports is not enough and thesource is single. The space and equipments use in club-oriented teaching can meet thebasic needs of teaching, but the use is not sufficient, relatively, there is more use of space.
