High School Music Textbooks have gone through two reforms. From the issue ofOrdinary Senior High School Art Appreciation Teaching outline in1996to the issue of SeniorHigh School Music Curriculum (experimental) in2003,we had experienced seven years’reform. The new curriculum standard has proposed six modules in the structure of high schoolmusic course, among which the music appreciation course is a required course and the othermodules are selective ones. Due to many factors, the music education in senior high schooldoesn’t draw much attention from the school and the phenomenon of lacking music teachersor lacking music teaching time is quite common. In the northeast part, the text books thatprimary and secondary schools used are generally (people’s music publishing) And becauseof the fact that the music course in Jilin Senior High School is the music appreciation course,the textbooks are Senior High School Music Appreciation (people’s music publishing house)and it is also the basis for teachers to choose their teaching contents. At present, the theses onthe study of the use of Senior High School Music Textbooks are relatively rare, therefore, thispaper aims at studying the current use conditions of Senior High School MusicAppreciation(people’s music publishing house) through the method of literature review,interviews and classroom observation in order to give some suggestions to the further use ofmusic textbooks.Chapter Ⅰ is the introduction part, it mainly focuses on the general summary of seniorhigh school music textbooks, including research background, research status in and out ofChina, research purpose and methods and research significance.Chapter Ⅱ first covers the definition of music appreciation textbook and then reviews thedevelopment of China’s senior high school music textbooks. After analyzing the Senior HighSchool Music Appreciation (people’s music publishing house) as well as interviewing andobserving senior high schools’ music teachers in four different schools in Changchun, theauthor summarizes the current status quo and deficiencies in the aspect of schools, musicteachers, music textbooks and students.Finally, the author comes up some suggestions according to the current use of SeniorHigh School Music Appreciation (people’s music publishing house)...
