Nowadays, becoming a fitness coach is more and more popular. The degree of popularity of fitness centers is hot beyond our imagination. However, recently the realities in the marketplace and government regulation and control are out of step with one another. This is due to profiteering and ruthless competition, which has caused quite a few problems. Existing studies focus on evaluating the skills of the fitness instructor, but there is a lack of theory concerning standardization of fitness training and regulation of fitness club management. This paper is based on personal experiences and professional interest in the theories and practice of fitness instructor training as well as domestic and international research in the matter contrasted by an investigation of current practices used in the fitness coach development and training courses at actual fitness centers in Wuhan. The aim of the research was to identify the status quo in fitness centers in Wuhan, such as an evaluation of the quality of fitness instructors’ skills and credentials, the differences in club management from one club to the next, an evaluation of students and to identify problems, bottlenecks and other inefficiencies. Through analysis of the research it is hoped to develop better guidelines to assess fitness instructors and facilities, to create a standard for accreditation of fitness instructors and fitness centers, to provide continuing education and certification to instructors and to establish an effective training regimen for students in the hopes of improving Wuhan’s fitness training industry. As part of my research of CSI-Bally Total Fitness, Perfeca, Caisa, Yufei and other clubs, I addressed the following concerns about Wuhan’s fitness club’s instructor’s training model:(1)Training instructor’s analysis. The quality of the teacher directly affects the students’ achievement. It is necessary to strengthen the quality of teacher training and regular professional training. A well informed instructor will be better qualified to assess students’ needs and provide the appropriate motivation.(2)The analysis of students enrolled in instructor training courses. The students’progress should be monitored via an evaluation form. The form should provide benchmarks for achievement and appropriate goals in order to produce the best instructors. The form in turn can be used to evaluate the productivity and ability of any given fitness instructor.(3)Student curriculum’s analysis. The establishment of special courses, which incorporate science in order to help students master training with uniform methods and strategy. This will also help the student to better fulfill their role as an effective and professional coach.(4)Students’employment management. This is a proposal to track access to employment for students by setting up a tracking mechanism in order to help students to understand the dynamics of the marketplace and to help them to develop accordingly, but also to keep abreast of the needs of society. It will also train them to create a teaching plan that is responsive to the needs of their clientele in order to maintain job security.
