In this research, undergraduate students’study engagement situation of Yangzhou University was tested. The survey showed the basic situation of Yangzhou University undergraduate students’study engagement, analysis the current problem and reason in it and discussed the countermeasures and proposals which could improve undergraduate students’ study engagement of Yangzhou University.This article stated the birth and development progress of study engagement at home and abroad, then gave the definition of study engagement:the input of body and mind towards study when students conduct perceive, emotion and behavior, the contact among students, teachers and schoolmates as well as the activity which could further themselves’development. At the same time, the article summing up the features of study engagement:subjectivity, collaborative, globality, constructivity, investigative.Based upon the correlational research, this study designed a survey instrument towards Yangzhou undergraduate students which measured from5dimensions:academic challenging, initiate cooperation states, teacher-student interactive frequency, educational experience richness, and campus environment support. The tests were random selected Yangzhou University undergraduate students. According to the results of the survey, we found5study engagement dimensions’status quo of Yangzhou University students through the descriptive analysis, and the independent sample t-test and variance analysis showed the differences of different grade, gender, major, lodging, and affection situation. The Pearson correlation showed that the5dimensions have significant correlation. The survey shows that there are some individual differences in the study engagement situation of Yangzhou University undergraduate students; Teacher and students interaction needs to be improved; Teach model needs to be innovated; Training oriented too narrow; Campus environment support needs more improve.At the end of the article, the author gives some countermeasures and proposals; hopes to have some help in improve the study engagement of undergraduate students, and also try to find a new way to promote the quality of higher education.
