Extracurricular reading is the extension of ordinary high school students’ Chinese study. It is the important method to improve their Chinese accomplishment. Along with the fast development of information technology, the current students’ extracurricular reading has gradually entered into the age of digital reading. Digital reading is that we read the words or articles which are processed digitally through electronic media.The seventh national reading survey shows that there are24.6%people, who get in touch with digital reading in our country on April,19th,2010. Statistic of state of affairs of development of internet network of the23rd China reports shows that the proportion of10-19years netizen increased. They become the largest Internet user groups in2010. The number of college degree or above is further lessened in the netizen. And the proportion of the junior or senior students is rising. So it is the development of the times inevitable trend that people pay more attention and research ordinary high school students’ digital extracurricular reading. The scope of this paper limited in Yang Zhou city. The main research method of this thesis is the cultural heritage research, questionnaire survey and interview. It investigated the current situation of ordinary high school students’ digital extracurricular reading. We found the reason through theoretical analysis and put forward the corresponding practice countermeasures. This paper focuses on four aspects:The first part summarized the current situation of digital reading and the young people’s digital reading mainly. The main medium of the young people’s digital reading are computers and mobiles at present in our country.The second part investigated the current situation of ordinary high school students’ digital reading and analyzed the Existing problems based on the questionnaire survey and interview for the senior students in Yang Zhou City. The third part theoretical analyzed the current situation. The main reason is that they influenced by external factors, such as social-cultural backgrounds, subjective factors, such as friends, families, teachers and schools, and internal factor of themselves for this current situation.The forth part put forward instructions for the ordinary high school students’ digital reading based on theoretical analysis. It instructed the students form the capacity of distinguish the good and the bad of digital content. It also leaded the students to pay more attention on traditional reading again to develop students’ reading capacity and teach the reading method and rectify their bad habits in reading. It can inspect the reading achievement. The most important is that people should pay more attention on making students’network morality standard.
