In this network era, telephones and computers play an important part in students’life and study. It has become a universal habit and a popular trend to use the keyboard to type characters. Students’writing ability is lower and lower, because they seldom have the chance to use pens, which is really worrying.In view of the objective fact, this thesis takes Zhongshan HQ Middle School as an example, applies questionnaires and the scene interviews to gather a large number of original data and statistics, and uses relevant data and statistics to analyze the situation of the middle school students’writing ability systematically in the network era. Through the investigation and analysis, the writer finds the middle school students’writing ability tends to be obviously low.There are many problems in writing area:1. High frequency of typos;2. Not standard writing;3. Not beautiful writing;4. Incorrect writing posture;5. Lack of vocabulary;6. Serious phenomenon of forgetting the words,etc.This thesis analyzes the cause of middle school students’low writing ability. There are two main aspects of the effects:1.the negative influence brought by computer writing, mainly including daily communication in the computer abuseã€the wide use of computers in the school, the popularity of computers in all fields of societyã€and the media influence;2.
