Undergraduate talents training model refers to some operation model and implementation of standards that under the guidance of certain educational theory and educational thoughts, collages construct stable teaching content, course system, management system and evaluation methods to achieve the goal of training undergraduate talents, including educational thought, training goal, training content, training process,and quality feedback.Undergraduate education has been the subject part of world higher education,it assumes a basic task of training national specialized talents. Undergraduate talents training model sets a limit to the characteristics of talents from the fundamental of undergraduate training. It reflects the educational thought, educational philosophy, talent nurturing view and running style of a college. In order to ensure the quality of talents training, we must establish a good training mode. Since the college enrollment expansion of the scale in1999, the quality of higher education in China has fallen off because of the shortage of School conditions and brilliant teacher.The community have questioned the quality of undergraduate education. This research forward in undergraduate talents training model has important theoretical and practical significance to collages on changing its educational thought, promoting higher education reform, improving the quality of university teaching and solving the difficult problem of employment of university studentsFrom1984to1996. Nanjing University implemented series of reforms of teaching and management system. It formed its own undergraduate talent traning mode characteristic. Its educational indicators and integrated strength ranked among the top universities in china."In order to attract the best students, give first-class culture, and create first-class talent", Nanjing University inherited the tradition and innovated its undergraduate talents training model. Its educational thought of "training objectives two talents", training goal of "two kinds of talents",construction policy of "carrying forward the excellent, supporting the key, changing the old, supporting the new",the curriculum of "small","personality" and "marginalization ", as well as the teaching operating mechanism made it formed its own undergraduate talents training model.This article sorted out Nanjing University’s undergraduate educational thoughts, talent training goal, the curriculum structure and system, professional settings and teaching operation mechanism from1984to1996through analysing the connotation of undergraduate talents training model and Nanjing University’s historical data in this period of time.In the premise of theory exploration and combined with the interview of Nanjing University’s undergraduate students, this article strive to summarize the undergraduate talents training model of Nanjing University and its characteristic to providing a reference guide and clear operation ideas for contemporary college to promote the reform of undergraduate talent training model.
