The higher education in China has been transforming from cultivating a small group of elites to catering for the need of the masses, and independent colleges have played an important role in the transformation. They effectively solve the problem of shortage of funds from the government, and have satisfied people’s demand for receiving higher education to some extent.However, due to some "inborn" qualities, some imminent problems are still to the hackled, especially problems with faculty human resources management like high turnover, unsatisfactory quality, and echelon personnel. Therefore, it is of great significance to find out how to implement the human management, and establish effective appraisal and motivation mechanisms so that the staff will be cultivated and highly proactive and provide intelligence support to the organization.DL Independent College, which has been in operation for many years and has many regional specialties, has been taken as the research subject in this thesis. By adopting the research methods of literature review and surveys, it analyzes the status quo of faculty management. Guided by the theories of people management, it aims to find an effective way of improving the faculty management.The thesis is composed of four chapters. Chapter one is the introduction. It briefly introduces the historical circumstances of establishing the school, the status quo, and the theoretical and practical significance of this research. Chapter two is the theoretical basis. Based on the existing theories, it sets boundaries for the theories that are used in this thesis, so that they will be quoted in later discussion. Chapter three is the introduction to the current situation and existing problems. It elaborates on the organizational structure, appraisal and salary systems, so as to discuss the corresponding solutions. Chapter four is the solutions. It proposes solution to the problems, and offers suggestions for building excellent faculty team.
