The Investigation About Interdisciplinary Postgraduates’ Study Situation And Its Countermeasures

Recently, with the rapid development of higher education, the number ofinterdisciplinary postgraduate has also increased. This paper take A university as anexample and based on depth investigation about interdisciplinary postgraduates’ studysituation, we expect to be able to form a comprehensive understanding of theinterdisciplinary postgraduates’ study situation and characteristics, then put forwardtargeted recommendations. In addition, we hope this paper can make the majority ofeducators to pay more attention to interdisciplinary postgraduates’ living condition.The interdisciplinary postgraduates in this paper is mainly refers to the students whosegraduate major and undergraduate major does not belong to the same subject. The conceptof the learning situation is the learning behavior, learning psychological conditions and theeffectiveness of their learning behavior. They are continuous, and throughout the entirelearning process. The interdisciplinary postgraduates’ study situation is the combination oflearning process and the results. It includes four aspects: learning motivation, learningpressure, learning engagement and learning achievement.This paper based on a self made questionnaire. According to the random samplinginvestigation into the postgraduates, we found out those questions: the interdisciplinarypostgraduates’ learning motivation is very utilitarian and their learning pressure is greaterthan others. In addition, The interdisciplinary postgraduates’ study situation between eachgrade have their own characteristics.Based on the survey results and depth interviews, we explore measures forimprovement from those aspects: establishment of the specialized subject and curriculumin higher education institution, recruiting mechanism of the postgraduates, the teachers’teaching methods and the guidance of instructors.
