With the new round of basic educational reform in China, more and more attention has been paid to school-based curriculum development. School-based curriculum development can reflect the school’s characteristics, meet the need of students, and help teachers to play a major role in curriculum development, so, how to develop a high-quality school-based curriculum system becomes the most important issue for schools.I designed the questionnaire according to the basic theory of school-based curriculum development and the curriculum development practice in China.This paper took the teachers and headmasters at primary school in Suzhou city as research objects. Through this survey research, I want to figure out the current situation of the school-based curriculum development at primary school in Suzhou city, and then we may get some experience, find out the problems and then provide some solutions.This paper begins with the understanding and the practical progress of school-based curriculum development.Through the questionnaire, I outline the current situation of every components of school-based curriculum development in practice, analyze the proceedings and problems of curriculum design, implementation, evaluation and management one after one, and at last I make some recommendations for improving the development of school-based curriculum in Suzhou.
