In June,2001, Ministry of Education promulgated “Essentials of Basic EducationCurriculum Reform (Trial)”, in which the Ministry claimed to change the situation thatcurriculum management is over centralized into a kind of level-3curriculum managementwhich is carried out by the country, local institute and school, and strengthen thecurriculum’s adaptation to local situation, schools and students. Then the level-3management pattern of curriculum has been formed, and the research on school-basedcurriculum has become a hotpot in the new round curriculum reform. Correspondingly, asone of the important ways to carry out the school-based curriculum, researches onschool-based teaching materials become much more. To realize the aim of school-basedcurriculum, teachers in school develop some teaching materials according to the needs ofstudents, which is been called school-based teaching materials. Most domestic scholarsspend their time on the research of school-based curriculum rather than school-basedteaching materials. Therefore, studies of school-based teaching materials become muchmore urgent.This paper made a discussion and research on the following aspects: First, get aunderstanding of the development of school-based teaching materials’ development both athome and abroad by referring to relevant materials. Second, master the actual situation ofschool-based teaching materials’ development through empirical investigation of Suzhouelementary schools’ school-based teaching materials developers, analyze the statistical dataand find problems; Third, get comments and suggestions on the development ofschool-based teaching materials through the interview of managers of Suzhou elementaryschool; Finally, expound problems existing in the development of school-based teachingmaterials and put forward some suggestions. |
