With the vigorous development of market economy, higher vocational colleges, as the main bases of supplying applied talents in our country, are more and more brought into the attention of the society. Therefore, we need to speed up and deepen the development of higher vocational education, to improve the ratio of talents cultivation in higher vocational colleges. As the subjects of vocational colleges, teachers, play a very important role in this process. Whether to possess a stable and effective teaching body is the key to the effective improvement of the rate of talents cultivation in higher vocational education. This requires that the higher vocational colleges should have a set of scientific and reasonable system for evaluating the performance of teachers, to help the teachers find their own shortages in the work, and encourage them to improve continuously. In this thesis, the author based on the theory related with performance assessment, combined with the actual situation of Guangzhou Engineering Vocational College, analyzes the current situation and existing problems of the current performance assessment system in this college, and the forming causes of the problems. And from the aspects of assessment index selection and formulation, assessment methods and standard, distribution of assessment index weight, to design the optimization scheme for the current teacher performance assessment system of Guangzhou Engineering Vocational College.This paper is mainly divided into seven chapters:the first chapter is introduction, which mainly introduces research background and significance, research ideas and methods, research frame-work of this thesis, etc.; The second chapter is related theory basis of this thesis; The third chapter mainly introduces and analyzes the current teacher performance assessment system of Guangzhou Engineering Vocational College, which mainly introduces the basic content, operating status and existing problems of the current teacher assessment system of this college; The fourth chapter analyzes the reasons that impact the operating effect of the teacher assessment system of this college; The fifth chapter is to optimize the teacher performance assessment system of Guangzhou Engineering Vocational College, which mainly includes the designing principle, designing path and specific content of the optimization scheme; The sixth chapter puts forward the implementation methods and guarantee measures for the optimization scheme, which mainly contains the implementation steps and principles of the assessment system, and organizational support, funding support and training support of the assessment system; The seventh chapter is the conclusion of this thesis and the prospect of the future.
