Applying local culture resources in high school ideological and politicaleducation, is not only beneficial to the inheritance and innovation of local culture, butalso enriches the middle school political education resources, which is favorable for theformation of good moral character of middle school students. Within a vast territory,different region in China has different economic and cultural development. Under a longhistorical accumulation, different region culture has a great impact on the formationand development of people’s ideological and moral. Located in the Yangtze RiverEconomic and Cultural center, Suzhou is the birthplace of Wu culture, which has a longhistory of gathering of talents. Applying Suzhou local culture resources to high schoolwill enrich the content and encourage the innovation of ideological and politicaleducation. Hence, the application will certainly help us build a better educationenvironment.However, when comes to apply Suzhou local culture resources in ideological andpolitical education in middle school, problems still exist. Not forming a perfecteducation environment, the consciousness of developing education curriculum is notstrong enough. Single methodology has been used in middle school political educationfor a very long time. Educators have not exerted beneficial factors of ideological andpolitical education, etc. The application of Suzhou local culture resources in ideologicaland political education of middle school should be carried forward from the followingaspects. First of all, improve the awareness of curriculum development throughstrengthening the construction of teachers. Secondly, improve and perfect themethodology when applying local culture in the middle school political education.Integrate local culture into both classroom teaching and practice education. Thirdly, create a carrier for the application. Finally, construct a favorable environment for theapplication.Chinese culture is broad and profound. This article only takes Suzhou localculture as an example, discusses the significance, problems and strategy of applyinglocal culture resources in high school ideological and political education. Hereby,promote the reformation and development local political education and serve thecomprehensive construction of socialist modernization.
