People have always regard higher education as holy since a long time. When it comes to universities, we would relate it to those time-honored, tree-lined public universities with beautiful campuses. However, in fact, in the background of mass higher education, public universities have far from satisfying its social needs. In the process of a Market economy-oriented society, the independent colleges and private universities have become more and more mature and developed to be stronger. Taking student products-oriented management models and student-training strategies, they have gradually turned to enterprise operation, and have a final aim of profit-gaining. Yet, for those students and their parents, it has become normal for them to accept the college fees. As a result, universities are becoming more and more commercialized.I was also in no knowing of how these profit-pursuing motivations could be coexist with our objectives of education, and even think of these for-profit higher education institutions are dregs in the academic circle. But now, taking myself into them and have a new look at this field, I realize that, actually, these universities are working at a great project, because what they are doing now are exactly balancing the contradiction between the increasing needs of higher education and the shortage of higher education resources in the society. After all, they are doing education businesses. In the precondition of training students, how could these universities guarantee that they can both achieve their educational goals and make more profits? Is there any "win-win" models? This research is intended to solve these problems.AC College is an independent college of A University with many private constituents, which makes it a good representative of the for-profit universities. This research takes AC College as a solid support, in terms of a economic man, to analyze the current profit model and major problems of this college, in order to bring forward a series of feasible suggestions and measures to make it more optimized.Under the guidance of some related theories of for-profit universities and also combined it with our national conditions, I have carried out an analysis of the profit-making necessity of the non-public universities in chapter1and chapter2. Chapter3and chapter4are the key points of this paper which analyzed the present management model and external economic relations of AC College and pointed its existing problems; in the following, I put forward some corresponding measures aiming at the single fund resource, the unfair benefit-sharing, the extensive use of by-products and so on. In this dissertation, I think those non-public colleges like AC should optimize their ratability mainly from the collectivization of financing, the innovation of student-training model, the profit-seeking reform of by-products and the extensive cooperation of enterprises and public institutions. At last, I explained the implementer schedules, the effect prediction and the risk management of the optimizing measures in chapter5. |
