Classroom observation is an educational research method introduced from abroad in recent years. Different from traditional classroom evaluation, it is a kind of classroom researching method with a certain purpose to collect information from classroom by the observers’sensory organ or some other auxiliary tools. During the observation, observers can evaluate the class from different dimensions and perspectives and do study about teachers and students from different layers on the basis of quantitative and qualitative data collected.Under the circumstance of New Curriculum Reform, how to carry on observation in physics’class is an important task in teaching research. As far as this problem is concerned, the author has done some preliminary study about the classroom observation methods, basic procedure and the classroom observation table of physics by observing, interviewing and inspecting literature, with the educational practice in Shijiazhuang No. A High School.There are4conclusions can be drawn from the research:A. Class observation should be a more persuasive instrument with more objective observation means, observation form and adequate statistics, making assessment more pertinent and technical.B. The selection of observation points should be based on the researching need of cooperation.C. With the process of designing observation form, it not only strengthens the learning and experience of educational theories, but also avoids the empty understanding.D. The obvious physics subject feature on observation form would break the overall structure of the form. The angle of observation should be in accordance with the essential factor in class and the requirement of assessment, and embody the characteristics of physics subject as much as possible.In general, physics course in high school education needs such a new way of evaluation as classroom observation. Hence, it is necessary to bring its superiority into full play and overcome its limitation to improve the research about physics subject with the common progress among teachers and students.
