With the reform of the international education, from2000years, the education of chinahas made great changes, however, developing the comprehensive quality for students is thesame purpose to them, they all hope that the students have the independent innovation ability,and build personal identity. With this changing, the geography teaching has also becomedifferently, it asks for students to learn the useful Geography knowledge to life and tothemselves. This paper studies the effect of “geography activity” in high school teaching.The thesis consists of five chapters:Firstly: introduction, this topic introduces the main source of this title, the theory andapplication value significance; second, analyzes theoretical basis on research of “geographyactivity”. It has philosophy and epistemology and psychology base. Next, the research’s ideasand methods, it has asked questions, analyze problems, to solve the problems. Researchmethodologies of literature review, questionnaire survey, interview survey and data collection.Lastly, the research progress on “geography activity” both at home and abroad.The second part: to describe the “geography activity”. It has the definition of “geographyactivity”, the aim of the education, characters, principle. The type of the “geography activity”,analyzes the question in class, observe in out of class, and combination of inside and outsideclass. Study the position of “geography activity”.The third part: this is the important content, analysis of the main function of “geographyactivity” in high school teaching. Elaborating from several aspects, stimulate students’ interestin learning geography, train the students’ hands-on ability and observation ability,strengthening understanding, geography thinking, build the creativity ability, developing theemotion attitude and values.The forth part: Conclusion. To summarize every chapter’s point.The last part: the problems and prospect. It has the difficulties on writing the paper andthe hope on “geography activities” in the future.
