In the era of a knowledge explosion, economic development is inseparable from thedevelopment of education,especially with the fast development of higher education recent years,the competition between universities were getting increasingly fierce. The competition is the talentcompetition between colleges and universities, it is actually the teachers’ competition. To retain theoutstanding talent, maintain the stability of university teachers and arouse teachers’ workenthusiasm and initiative at the greatest degree, which is gradually became one of the core issues ofuniversities management. Along with our country’s great concern to the education problem and afew of university’s internal management system reform, many universities and research instituteshave discussed a lot of how to motivate employees on a understanding level. Treatment of theteachers in colleges and universities have developed a lot, the university teachers’ social status alsoincrease accordingly, which plays a part on improving the quality of higher education and stabilityof teachers. In addition, they also continuously explore the corresponding mechanism in practicelevel.Shanxi Province as a less developed province, which is located in the central China, thedevelopment of economy has restricted the development of education,The incentive mechanismmanagement of university teachers still has significant limitations, there are still many questions togo deep into. Such as there is still a lack of incentive object, incentive opportunity, and incentivesystem research method, cannot meet the needs of colleges and universities of the province,whichresulted in a current reality that teachers’ work enthusiasm is not high. The realization of incentivepertinence, sociality, integrity and continuity are not enough and comprehensive, etc.In order to solve series of practical problems, this article selects eight established universitiesin Shanxi Province as the research object. The paper based on some of its teacher’s investigationand study, obtained first-hand material and second-hand data,in order to explore the motivationmechanism which is suitable for Shanxi university teachers. First chapter the introductionintroduces the research background of this paper, research methods and research content andincentive mechanism of the related research situation at home and abroad. The second chapter reviews the relevant concepts and theories to define the incentive mechanism. The third chaptertakes Shanxi university, Shanxi university of finance and economics, Taiyuan university oftechnology, Shanxi normal university and other universities as the research objects, carry out adetailed analysis of the result of the questionnaire and summarized the general situation of teachers’incentive mechanism of Shanxi province. The Fourth chapter comprehensively discussed theexisting problems and reasons of incentive mechanism in Shanxi universities. The fifth chapter isbased on the incentive mechanism of university teachers abroad for reference, to offer revelation ofthe incentive mechanism of university teachers in Shanxi Province The sixth chapter, aiming at theproblems in Shanxi university teachers’ incentive mechanism, to build a suitable incentivemechanism of the development of college teachers in Shanxi Province.
