Class teaching is the most elementary and effective way in school education. The size of aclass is an important factor that directly influences class teaching. It can also have an effect onclass management. With the development of the society and further advancement of newcurriculum reform, we place our primary aim at training self-reliant and creative citizens bycarrying out education for all-round development, life-time education for everyone. The teachersfollow the rules of education and the rules in students’ development in mind and body. Thesmall-class pattern has become the trend of elementary education.The small-class pattern has become a heated topic home and abroad in recent years. Peoplemake many studies on the small-class pattern which can promote students’ active and livelydevelopment, as well as the features and rules of the pattern. Great achievement has been madeand comprehensive training can be further deepened. However, there is a problem, that is, thereare more theories than practices, especially, there should be more concern on the existentproblems and their possible solutions.This thesis fully elaborates the management of small class pattern, makes some research,analysis and solutions, based on referring to and reviewing a number of documents, materials,and researches in small-class management in S school since May,2005.This research is divided into four parts in structure:Part Ⅰ analyzes the research situation and trend home and abroad, and also makes clear thethinking line and key points in the research.Part Ⅱ analyzes the basic situation and research result in small-class pattern teaching in Smiddle school. It makes a research and analysis from the perspective of administration, teachers,and students and studies the following problems: individual roles, atmosphere and features,administration behaviors, personal relationship and development prospect.Part Ⅲ analyzes the problems existent in small class administration in S middle school.Combined with the research result, it can be concluded that there are mainly four problems insmall class administration in S middle school. It also analyzes the possible causes of theproblems.Part Ⅳ discusses the solution and policies in small class administration. It focuses on five aspects which include: the mutual development of teachers and students, humane administrationsystem, innovative teaching pattern, construction of class culture, featured education concerningindividuality. With these five points plus the existent practice, the philosophy of small-classpattern is brought up.
