The Trouble And Research Of College Students’ Employment

With the continuous development of higher education in our country, people are paying more and more attention to education. The employment of graduates concerns the national stability, social harmony, family happiness and individual development. The expansion of enrolment in college since1999has allowed more and more young people to study in colleges. However, the insufficient job opportunities the society can offer make nearly one million graduates unemployed each year and forced into the next recruitment, thus the employment pressure of newly graduates of colleges is becoming more and more significant. New problems are derived from the difficulty of college graduates’ employment under the new situation. How to guide graduates in facing realities by improving their integrative competence and creating employment opportunities under the help of government policies to encourage employment and all aspects of social life has become a new difficulty not only for college employment guidance department but also a great challenge for the whole society. Currently, the employment problem of college graduates calls for not only the subjective initiative from each student and the occupational guidance of colleges, but also the cooperation from government, employers and society to make contribution to promoting social development and maintaining social stability and harmony.The employment difficulty for college graduates is the major point of government work, the emphasis of school, as well the focus of people’s concern. Studies and analysis on the issue are not unusual, and a few specialists and scholars have put forward their opinions. However, theses concern the joint efforts of social aspects to solve the employment difficulty for college graduates by comparison are not common. The thesis analyzes the measures needed to solve the issue in terms of the graduates, institutions of higher learning, functional government departments, employers, and social opinions from the point to the surface focus on the graduates under new situation, combined with the author’s own experience. Thus it is possible for each role and department to cooperate with each other and make joint efforts to deal with the employment difficulty.The essay includes four parts:The first part mainly introduces the selected topic background, the research significance, the research status at home and abroad, the research mentality, the writing frame and the research method.The second part mainly analyzes the situation and causes of college graduate employment. It probes deep into the causes for employment difficulty from the five aspects of graduates, institutions of higher learning, government, employers, and social environment based on the summary along with the analysis of the status.The third part summarizes the positive efforts America and Japan have made in promoting college graduate employment with their notable achievements and lessons worthy of reference.The last part puts forward the specific measures to solve the employment problems for graduates in terms of the following five aspects:the college students should improve all-around qualities and change the concept of employment; institutions should strengthen the employment guidance of students, and realize the innovation of employment service system; government should strengthen the construction of systems, laws and regulations to comprehensively standardize the employment market; employers need establish the concept of selecting talents with overall consideration and rational estimation; the society should insist on correct guidance of public opinion to create a favorable employment atmosphere.
