Problems Of Youth Volunteer Service In Small-Medial Size Cities And Social Work Intervention Research

Social work development in our country is still in its infancy. There are a variety of historical factors:the social atmospheres of mutual assistance, a low level of overall social civilization are two of important causes. Especially small and medium-sized cities in China, social work of the development of the soil is relatively weak. Thus, the development of small and medium-sized city volunteers creates a social atmosphere of mutual assistance, and improves the development of social work.The youth volunteer organization of small and medium-sized cities, with its wide coverage, large influence in the volunteer organizations occupies the dominant position, so the study of small and medium-sized city youth volunteer activities is necessary.This study taking jiujiang youth volunteers activities as an example, explores the macro social work intervention in youth volunteer activities of small and medium-sized cities practice research. The research content mainly includes four aspects:First, the status of jiujiang youth volunteers activities analysis. Literature study and depth interview method for the structure of personnel composition, organization’s structure, content are analyzed in details. At the same time it adopts comparative analysis to find the characteristics of the content item. Secondly, jiujiang youth volunteer activities’ demand and reason of macro social work intervention, using the questionnaire survey and depth interview method to survey the lack of social participation, low level organization and inadequate protection of the activities carried on the quantitative and qualitative analysis, and put forward the need for the macro social work intervention. Thirdly, macro social work interventions to jiujiang youth volunteer activities. According to the problems and causes, it combined with the community work, social work administration and social policy principle, proposes comprehensive countermeasures insisted with increasing activity participation, perfect organization, and improving the service comprehensive environment. Fourthly, according to the research content it concludes the conclusion and deficiencies.Through research, the author draws the following conclusions:First, the perspective of social work intervention in small and medium-sized city youth volunteer activities are necessary. Secondly, the lack of social participation, low level organization and inadequate protection of the activities require the social work interventions. Thirdly, the three dimensions of community work, social work administration, social policy in macro social work has certain feasibility to involved in the interventions of small and medium-sized city youth volunteer activities.
