Research On Construction And Application Of Social Cohesion Evaluation Indicators System

The study of the residents’quality of life has drawn great attention of researchers, through various scientific methods, they have done many empirical or theoretical research. But the current researches are focus on the individual level, not systematic on social level. To make up for the deficiency, the concept of social cohesion can be introduced, which emphasize the status and role of social quality in quality of life and changes the study from the individual to social level.We recognize social cohesion as an indispensable part of quality of life target policy. At present, the related researchers in foreign countries are comparative maturity, systematic, which in domestic is just in the initial stage. I attempt to construct a systematic index system which matches our country’s actual conditions. I hope that it can be applied to public policy and make contribute to the social management.This paper consists of five chapters. Chapter one is introduction, carding domestic and foreign literatures about the residents’quality of life and social cohesion and reviewing literatures related. Chapter two is the theory construction of social cohesion evaluation indicators system, its main content includes theoretical basis, design principle, conceptual framework, and the selection of measurement dimensions and specific indicators of social cohesion are determined preliminary. Chapter three is the empirical construction of social cohesion evaluation indicators system. According to the indicators system, we design corresponding questionnaire filled by the residents of ZQ,SG,LZ city of Shandong province as the target group. A large quantity of authentic materials about their basic living conditions equality of opportunity, status, area construction, social networking and belonging can be obtained, then, we can do some data analysis combining with specific conditions. Finally, social cohesion indicators system is confirmed. Chapter four is related with the analysis for the preliminary application of social cohesion evaluation indicators system. We will find out what is deficient in social cohesion and make effective policy suggestions correspondingly. Chapter five is the public policy value of social cohesion evaluation indicators system. According to the study, we try to find a valid path to improve social cohesion. To be specific, we should take measures as follows:improving the environmental sanitation condition of city, reducing the cost of basic living, continuing to carry out the household endowment model and promote social integration and participation of elderly, promoting the construction of community and philanthropic organization, enhancing social class liquidity. The conclusion part points out the limitation of the present research and put forward for future research expectation.
