Teenagers are the future builders of the socialist country under the rule of law. To strengthen the legal education is the inevitable requirement of constructing socialist country under the rule of law in our country. Therefore, to cultivate teenagers legal literacy is the main target of legal system education of teenagers. In school education, education of legal system is an important part of school moral education. As the main carrier of ideological and moral course textbooks, it has important influence on middle school students’ education of legal system. Based on this, Legal education content which included in the people’s education press "ideology and moral character" textbooks for grade seven to nine is the main research object of this paper.The first part of this thesis mainly elaborated the value of the legal system education contents of "ideology and moral character" textbooks:cultivate the students’ legal quality and promote the student individual socialization; improve the students’ personality, the realization of the all-round development of students’personality.The second part of this thesis mainly described the status of the content of legal education in the textbook of Ideology and Morality through the data statistics and text analysis. The study result shows that legal education content accounts for a quarter in the textbook and scatters in three different grades, especially on the eighth grade. Through the analysis of the legal system education content in the teaching material, the conclusion shows that there’s a lot of content of the rights and obligations, illegal sanctions and crime prevention, protection of the rights and interests of minors.On the basis of the second part, the third part of this thesis mainly pointed out problems and analyzed the cause. Problems include the following aspects:too much emphasis on the law of deterrence and protection; the rights and obligations of improper distribution; ignore the legal knowledge related to the environmental protection. There are two reasons for the emergence of the problem above, for instance, the potential impact of Chinese traditional legal culture and the restriction of the nature of the course and the textbook writers consciousness.In view of the above problems, the forth part of this thesis mainly made some operational suggestions for improving legal system education contents in the textbook which mainly include the following content:appropriately play down the Law of deterrence and protection and strengthen the content of the socialist concept of rule of law; pay attention to the content of the rights and obligations of the balance and add content of the basic duty; attach great importance to the basic legal knowledge related to environmental protection.
