The class of commenting on English test papers plays a very important part inEnglish teaching and studying in senior high school. Its success or failure has a directimpact on students’ learning and results of exams, and even makes a difference tosome aspects of the teaching quality. Commenting on English test papers is a processwhere both teachers and students can get feedback and corrections. However, such aclass is always ignored nowadays. There may be problems and difficulties in it.Teachers focus on the mastery of language knowledge and skills more than onstudents’ emotions, attitudes, capacities, personal development and so on. As aresult, teachers may think more about their teaching contents, steps and proceduresso as to improve students’ subjectivity.By conducting “Commenting on English Test Papers Learning Survey (Studentquestionnaire)”and “Commenting on English Test Papers Teaching Survey (Teacherquestionnaire)”, the author has found the current situation and some problems inthe class of commenting on English test papers in No.2Jiangyin Senior High School.Besides, based on the research of some relevant documents, some relevant theories(such as Feedback Theory, Attribution Theory, etc.) and the combination of teachingexperience for many years, the author puts forward some effective teachingstrategies, namely: before-class strategies, while-class strategies and after-classstrategies. And then, the author puts these strategies into practice, proving that theyare very effective to some extent.The paper consists of five parts: Part1mainly describes the background of thestudy, states the purposes and significance of this study. Part2mainly deals withsome relevant definitions, refers to some research related to the study and putsforward some relevant theories. Part3is mainly about investigation designs andprocesses on the present situation of commenting on English test papers in NO.2Jiangyin Senior High School. In addition, the chapter gives some statistics andanalyses the data according to the questionnaires. Part4mainly focuses on severalteaching strategies to achieve effectiveness about commenting on English test papers in senior high school according to the combination of theories and the author’spractical experience. Besides, this part mentions the feedbacks and results afterapplying the strategies to the author’s teaching. The last part arrives at theconclusions, makes some suggestions for teaching, points out the limitations of thisresearch, and puts forward further research and practice about the research.
