As a result of the particular geographic environment and Multi-ethnic characteristics in Northern Yunnan, there is a large gap at sports programs and curriculum between the eastern provinces and the northern Yunnan. After reading existing literature, it’s still a blank in the field of elementary school physical education curriculum research. Therefore, by grasping the status of minority rural primary school physical education curriculum, it will be helpful to seize the great opportunity to play a crucial role in the rapid development of the rural primary school physical education at the ethnic minority areas of northern Yunnan province.By using the analysis of literature, field investigation, case analysis, questionnaire survey and taking ten primary school at Yong chun of Weixi Lisu Autonomous County as a case, this paper makes a deepen investigation and analysis on the physical education curriculum, sports teachers, school infrastructure. Through the series result of research,reveals the current situation of rural primary school physical education curriculum in Northern Yunnan minority area, summarizes existing problems for its development, and supplies some comments and suggestions in order to enrich the minority rural area sports curriculum example, provides a case support for the minority sports career development. At the same time as the economy has accelerated the development of the Chinese minority, it become more and more serious of the traditional culture of the minority nationalities erosion, so this paper will be combine Lisu’s singing and dancing with sports course, makes Li su nationality traditional culture inheritance.The research on rural primary physical education curriculum in northern Yunnan minority area showed:physical education teachers in the area are severely lacking. And completely unable to satisfy the need of the sports course teaching and leads to the curriculum is not standard and too random. Second site, the number of rural primary school suffer serious lack of sports funds, grounds and equipments. Besides, the education department pay less attention on sports course results that school and teachers don’t pay enough attention to Physical education. The last but still important one, the contents of physical education curriculum is single, the region sports course content completely can not reach the requirements of the curriculum standard, many contents can’t carry out for site, equipment, teachers or other reasons.On the basis of analysis, it concluded some opinions and Suggestions:first, correct understanding of the significance of the physical education curriculum implementation and intensify propaganda. Second one, increase the sports funds, improve sports infrastructure. Third, develop school-based sports curriculum with national characteristics, bring the minority’s national fitness project into the physical education curriculum teaching. Fourth, pay attention to the construction of the teaching staff, and handle introduction of talents. Fifth, carry out extra physical activities usually, increase students’ interest in sports.
