| As we all know, one of the new initiatives of the second curriculum reform is to have the curriculum objective change from one-dimension into three-dimension. Actually,"knowledge and skills objective" is not only more familiar to the teachers, but also has been consistently emphasized and implemented in teaching for many years. But if we want to upgrade the comprehensive quality of students, we need to do more about the two objectives of "process and methods "and" emotion, attitude and values". How to refine the "process and methods" and "emotion, attitude and values" and how to implement in teaching practice? This is an issue worthy to be explored. The two dimensions of objective depend not only on the subjective desire of teachers, but more involved in the students’ emotional experiences and the process of internal changes. If the two objectives setting become a mere formality, then it will affect the improvement of students’ comprehensive quality. I am fortunate to participate in the research "The curriculum objective refinement ", chaired by teacher Zhao Yiling, Xuhui District Institute of Education. We have refined junior high school physical education curriculum objective for two years. Now, there is a teaching objective system which is systematic, hierarchical, and easy to be operated. The general objective, curriculum objective and the concrete implementation teaching objective in classroom are all set for students’ learning outcomes. But they have differences in knowledge ranges, learning time and objective requirements. For example, the general objective is broad, long-term. It is the vision target of the junior middle school physics study. Curriculum objective is designed for a stage or a chapter. Although it is more specific and clearer, it is still a kind of unit objective. Teaching objective is a refined one. It is an organized, planned, independent objective penetrating in teaching activities. Teachers set it based on their teaching practices. It has narrow scopes and short time. And it is a kind of teaching plan which its purposes and functions arehighly targeted. What’s more, it is easy to be carried out. The carrier of realizing the three-dimensional objective is content standards. The content standard includes textbooks and activity card. Students learn the relevant contents to achieve intended learning outcomes. There are a lot of teaching methods. Therefore, how to help students achieve the teaching objective is a kind of each teacher’s creative work. This article is about how to refine curriculum objectives reasonably, in order to let them easy to be used by teachers. Detailed objective is hierarchical which is related to students’ level of cognition abilities. It will be implemented in our effective teaching such as preparing lesions, giving classes, homework, remediation and assessments. It is used to create a step, reduce the difficulty of learning and help students master new knowledge in their zones of proximal development, eventually reach the targets and develop new abilities. In this article, we have made "scenario description" about how to set the matching evaluation tests and given some principled suggestions. But how to construct scientific junior middle school physics curriculum objective refining system, how to evaluate the refining system’s effectiveness and operational aspects remain to be further explored. |
