Based on large previous research, this study focused on the topic of “process andmethods” in the three-dimensional aims of physics in junior middle school, andfurther explained the connotation of physics “process” curriculum objective. Thestudy preliminarily explored the strategies of grounding “process and methods” injunior middle school, which could help teacher to understand this objective deeply,make sure its importance and ensure its applicability in classroom teaching. The studyis expected to offer related references for educators and researchers in the field ofphysics.The study consisted of five parts:Part I: the background and significance of “process and methods” for physics injunior middle school under the concept of new curriculum reform were elaborated.Based on literature, the current situation of “process and methods” curriculumobjectives was sorted out, and the main research contents and methodology were alsostated.Part II: the connotation of physics “process and methods” curriculum objective,and its position and function in physics teaching and research, were explained in threedimensions–etymology, philosophy and education based on both literature and theauthors’ understanding. The related theoretical bases were also stated in this part andthey were constructivism, pedagogy, educational psychology and science theory ofphysics.Part III: related questionnaire was designed and utilized to investigate juniormiddle school physics teachers’ understanding on “process and methods” curriculumobjective, its connotation, its implementing situation and its implementing strategies.This was also the evidence of the implementation of junior middle school physic“process and methods” curriculum objective.Part IV: the implementing strategies were explored and discussed from threeaspects–physics compilation of textbook, physics teaching practice and physicscurriculum evaluation. Among them, the teaching strategy of “process-oriented” wasdiscussed as the core.Part V: conclusion and discussion. Conclusion, reflection and prospect on theimplementing research of junior middle school “process and methods” curriculumobjective were proposed.
