A Study On The Problems Of The Faculty Constraction In Independent College

Independent College is a model of exploration and innovation under a new situation of higher education mechanism and model. Since the end of the 20th century there has been rapid development, Independent College becomes a force for the popularization of higher education, which has attracted extensive attention of the whole society. As a boom novelty of the higher education systems, Independent College stepped from the first stage of scale development into the second stage of standardizing development, and its survival in future depends on nothing but its quality, in which faculty construction is undoubtedly the key problem.This paper takes a representative independent college in Guangdong Province—H College as a research sample. By means of the research methods of literature, questionnaire and interviews, the author studies the main existing problems of faculty construction in H College, and then provides an in-depth analysis of reasons. At last, the author proposes approaches and counter-measures of faculty construction in independent colleges in the future. The author expected that this paper could provide certain references for other independent colleges as well as H College.The paper can be divided into four parts:The first part is the introduction. In this part, the author first puts forward the significance of the subject, and then refers to the current situation of relevant studies both at home and abroad. The author also explains the research ideas and methods of this paper as well as the innovation and shortcomings.In the second part, the author studies the present situation of teaching staffs in H College, and analyzes the main problems exist, including insufficient number of faculty; a lack of teachers with fine quality; the unreasonable structure of teaching staffs; unstability of teachers’ team; and teachers quality whole remains to rise.In the third part, the author tries to find out the reasons of the existing problems of faculty construction in H College, through the way of analyzing the administrative system of H College, teachers’ developing scope, the budget for running the college, and external environment influences as well.In the fourth part, through the analysis of the reason above, according the trait of H College to find out the solution to the faculty construction: Improving the college administration to build nice atmosphere on campus; setting up and improving the system for teachers’ management to expand the developing scope of teachers; raising sufficient fund for running a college and providing economic security for the faculty construction; Government strengthening supervision and control support to create a favorable external environment.
