The evaluation of modern education has more and more taken notice of eval ingthe function of the students’development. In our country, with the deepening of the reform of near courses in senior middle school, the traditional evaluation of education shows its disadvantage day by day. Above all, in chemistry which is a practical course, if we still use the traditional evaluation, it will hinder theall-round development of the students. On the bases of trying to find out the advantage and the disadvantage of the traditional evaluation and the developing evaluation, The new reform of chemistry curriculum evaluation has a lot of fundamental changes in its basic conception, of which *the most outstanding is that it reflects the humane spirit—takes human beings as the foundation and respects the subjectivity of individuals as well as the dynamics. In the aspect of the evaluation of the students, the new reform lays more stress on the students’ learning and development, that is, it focuses on the achievements made by students, promotes students’ all-around capacity development, advocates pluralistic evaluation, but also respects students’ differences. So it is required that we continuously perfect the developmental evaluation system and reform the existing class-teaching mode, thus allowing students adequate room for development. Besides, the interactivity of the evaluated subjects, the diversity of the evaluation contents as well as the dynamics of the evaluation process should be further studied to meet the demands of the new curriculum standards. However, research into the developmental evaluation is not common at present.The author of this thesis has practiced for a year about hour to carryout developing evaluation for the students in chemistry course .Teaching practice proves that there are some shortcomings in carrying out the developing evaluation, and there are also some difficulties in the course of teaching. But the developing evaluation can play a good part to the students whole level of competence and personal character development .We hope that in the newreform of chemistry course, especially, in the chemistry optional course while isfull of personal character how to carry out the developing evaluation, to give fullplay to the students personal character, to raise students’whole level ofcompetence is an arduous task we, the chemistry teachers must face. we teachers should pay much attention to the students’learning process, so as to fully arouse all the students’ enthusiasm, initiative and confidence.
