| With the development of the age and advancement of society, people’s awareness of pursuing to healthy beauty becomes stronger, which offers the opportunity of the development and teaching reform of college calisthenics. Calisthenics is an aerobic exercise in which people create actions according to their needs and practice so that they can please and enjoy themselves. Therefore, Calisthenics can release people’s press and improve their psychological health, enhance the effect of body-building and make body in the best condition. However, under various presses, the college freshmen are lack of abilities and habits of self-exercise. The present study, putting forward the teaching reform on the basis of the traditional teaching approach of college calisthenics, aims to arouse college students’interest in calisthenics, guide them to gain a positive feeling experience and to master a series of methods of learning calisthenics and improve their creative abilities, make college students understand better the essence of calisthenics in practice, and enhance their awareness of lifelong physical education and self-physical training.Through using the method of literature, interviews, questionnaire survey, teaching experimentation and mathematical statistics, this study experiments on the application of teaching approach in gymnasium to college calisthenics course. The results show that:(1)The characteristics of teaching model in gymnasium are as follows. Students practice under the leading of the teacher’s demonstration; The teacher points out the main points and correct students’mistakes and explains after practice. Students learn by continual practice and understand better the basic techniques through the teacher’s explanation. Therefore the objectives of traditional teaching can be achieved and the shortcoming of“the deficiency of classroom exercisesâ€is overcome. (2) The significant difference of students’subjective feeling experience and learning indicates that students can enjoy the sports better in the new-modeled teaching process and prefer the teaching-calisthenics-in- gymnasium method. (3) The teaching-calisthenics-in-gymnasium method not only involves the teachers’teaching approaches but also makes students know“howâ€to learn calisthenics. This method cultivates the students’creative awareness and improves their creative ability. (4) Continual training by using the teaching-calisthenics-in-gymnasium method can keep actions organically related. The explanation after training makes students know the main points better. The Band-3-calisthenics-test’s results of experiment group and control group shows that the final achievements, basic actions, combination of actions and the force of performance of the experiment group are superior to that of the control group. (5) The teaching-calisthenics-in-gymnasium method requires the teacher to have a greater athletics amount and have a higher level of comprehensive qualification. (6) In the calisthenics-in-gymnasium teaching process, because teacher practices together with students, he or she can realize students’ physical experience. By encouraging students and arousing their enthusiasm, the harmonious relationship between teacher and students can be obtained more easily. |
