The thesis studied employment effects of the biomedical industry development inBeijing. This paper was specificto the employment to study the socio-economic effect.Firstly, analysis of the development status and employment status of the biomedicalindustry in Beijing and the industrial added value and employment in recent years showeda growing trend. By the known data and industry reports that Beijing’s biomedical industryis approaching maturity. From the results of structure deviation degree of the industry thatit has the potential to further stimulate employment growth. Then used the Grangercausality test methods, inspecting of industrial production and employment in the causalrelationship of the two time series, to come to the biopharmaceutical industry developmentwould inevitably bring about employment growth. Followed by regression analysis todraw the direct employment effects of the biomedical industry, and used the formula of theindustry association to calculate the correlation degree with the biomedical industry, toidentify the strong industry and its relevance, and calculated the amount of employment inthese industries, the indirect employmenteffect. In order to further studied impact onemployment of the biomedical industry, we identified the factors that affected theemployment. According to the influencing factors, a regression model to analyze thespecific impact of each factor set up and the Grey theory model used to predict theindustry over the next few yearsemployment situation.Among them, investment in fixed assets, R&D investment, industrial restructuring,wage levels on employment took positive roles in promoting, but technological progresshad a negative effect on the industry’s employment. Determining factors to the grasp of thebiomedical industry employment, driven by a certain reference value.The development ofthe biomedical industry was one of the emerging strategic industries, and its developmentwas directly related with the country’s scientific and technological innovation, but also hadan impact on the economic and social development, the research had practical significanceof the socio-economic.
