Chinese ceramics played an important role in the ancient export trade. Chinese ceramicsexport experienced three stages from the Mid17thCentury to the Mid19thCentury: restoredevelopment、peak and decadency. The paper mainly discusses: the development of Chineseceramics from the Mid17thCentury to the Mid19thCentury.The Chinese ceramics export in theEurope and U.S.A and its role played in multi-cultural exchanges. The paper is divided into threeparts. Chapter one firstly casts back the development of Chinese ceramics from the Mid17thCentury to the Mid19thCentury. Jun ji to the early of Kang xi-Chinese ceramics production in therecovery phase due to the regime has not stable.“Kang xi and Qian long Golden Age” period-Thedevelopment of Chinese ceramics reached its peak, The varieties of Chinese ceramics increased,official kilns simultaneously, showed a flourishing scene. Jia qing and Daoguang period-theproduction and quality of Chinese ceramics were in decline, due to the decline of national power.Chapter two discusses the exportation of Chinese ceramics in Europe and North Americafrom the Mid17th Century to the Mid19th Century. the exportation of Chinese ceramics is dividedinto three periods: difficult period、thriving period and shrink period. the exportation of Chineseceramics is tightly connected with the political、economic and foreign policies of the QingDynasty. It was the peak period of Chinese export ceramics from18th20s Century to18th60s.Tea、coffee、chocolate and other new popular drink expanded the sales of Chinese ceramics.Chinese ceramics got into the period: exportation according to the Order. The late eighteenthcentury, with the gradual development of European Ceramics, Chinese export ceramics took aturn.The European markets shrank continually, The United States market grew consistently. In theMid19th Century, Chinese ceramics was encroached from the international market, because of thefierce capitalism competition.The third part discusses the role of Chinese ceramics played in the multi-cultural exchanges.Chinese ceramics stimulated the development of European ceramics industry; Promoted Europeanart style transforming from Baroque to Rococo, enriched the art and social life of the westerners.The western art style also had influence on the shape、pattern of Chinese ceramics,Chinese export ceramics gradually westernized.Armorial ceramics、Guangzhou Color ceramics graduallyreplaced The Blue and White ceramics, became the main varieties of Chinese export ceramics.
