In21st century, knowledge plays an important role in economic development,which has taken the place of capital to be the most important resource. As for anenterprise, most valuable assets are knowledge, technology and the continuousinnovation capability. So that if an enterprise want to possess the continuouscompetitiveness, then it should have the capacity of knowledge innovation. Thesignificance of knowledge determines the importance of knowledge workers. Only ifan enterprise obtains knowledge workers, it can acquire their knowledge which cancreate value for enterprise. It is worth focusing on how to manage knowledge workersso that can make them loyal to enterprises and utmost motivating their workinginitiative of the modern management research.The quality and quantity of knowledge workers of an enterprise determine itscore competitiveness, and only those high-quality and all-around talents can turn intothe beloved of enterprises. Knowledge workers are different from general workers;they have special personality and demands. As we all know that any work motivationcomes from needs satisfaction, and enterprises can only better motivate them throughsatisfying their special needs. Therefore, enterprises ought to resort to effectiveincentive measures to motivate knowledge workers to be totally willing to stay inenterprises, which we should know that the knowledge worker turnover can make theenterprises suffer great losses. At the meantime, enterprises should keep cultivatingand developing potential knowledge workers to boost knowledge workers reserve ofenterprises, only in this way, an enterprise can remain invincible in the nowadaysfierce competition.This article makes a study based on related literatures, and it contains five parts.The first chapter, introduction, in which the study background, contents andinnovation points are introduced. The second chapter is theory summary, in which the definition of work motivation, and four motivation theories, namely content typeincentive theory, process incentive theory type, behavior type incentive theory andincentive comprehensive incentive theory are introduced, and also the motivationfactors suggested by different researchers are presented. The third chapter presents thedefinition of knowledge worker, its characteristics and required qualities, and putsforward the knowledge workers’ characteristics of demand which are analyzed fromthree aspects of age, gender and education background, and introduces the questionsin modern enterprises knowledge workers’ motivation modes. The fourth part is themain part of this article, the design of knowledge workers’ motivation modes, whichcontains five work motivation modes, namely compensation system motivation mode,enterprise culture motivation mode, emotion motivation mode, right motivation modeand achievement motivation mode according to the questions promoted in chapterthree. The fifth chapter, case study, this article take the A company as an example,and promotes concrete improvement measures after the analysis of the existedquestion in the work motivation of knowledge workers of this company.
