Implementation And Study Total Productive Maintenance(TPM) For A Company

As China Automotive Industry was being boomed, the competition between automotive parts manufacturers is being become keener and keener. What one of the biggest challenges is how to decrease the product cost and improve the product quality, is focused on by each company.First, this thesis described the problems on equipment management faced by Company A. Then based on statistical report and questionnaire investigation, analysis was made on current "equipment maintenance system" and "equipment evaluation method" of company A. According to the analysis result, bring forward the research content:based on the theory of TPM, focused on the introduction of OEE measurement methods as tools for evaluation of the equipment status to "full-scale production system", optimization and implementation of TPM system.Optimization and implementation of equipment management system of company A, through methods of statistic analysis, on-site research, and CIP, we identified the root cause for low equipment efficiency and low quality pass rate from the five aspects of human, machine, material, method, environment and proposed solutions to improve equipment efficiency, reduce costs, improve the competitiveness of enterprise. These improvements not only reduced the company’s production and operation costs, but also reduced machine down time and spare parts cost. Enterprise competitiveness was enhanced, internal communications and cooperation were strengthened, and staff morale was improved as well.The parent company now has more investment confidence to company A; It promoted company A’s equipment management system to serve as a template for other companies in the Group.The thesis combined theory and practice, introduced OEE measurement methods as tools for evaluation of the equipment status to TPM which can provide referential experience to other companies to build TPM system.
