With the accelerating process of urbanization, the increase of urban construction land hasbecome an inevitable trend of the present economic development. However, as economicdeveloping rapidly, urban construction land is in short supply, a large number of constructionland is wasted at the same time. It is very critical to have the construction land properly usedand planned in the urban comprehensive planning to achieve the splendid goal of landsustainable development as well as to build a conservation-oriented society.The Tongchuan city is located in the central area of Shaanxi Province.Its total landacreage is388,959.00hectares,Currently, the Tongchuan city has a rapid growth of urbanpopulation size, and a rapid growth of construction land size.The leap-forward developmentof economic is also a new challenge for the utilize of urban construction land.This paper draws on the experience at home and abroad, analysis the current constructionland layout and utilize of Tongchuan’s designated urban planning area, divide the city intothree areas(the north area, the south area, and the green corridor) and make a specificinvestigation on the supply and demand of construction land in these districts with a mass ofdata. Combined with the requirements in the strategy of sustainable development and "UrbanComprehensive planning Outline of the Tongchuan city(2005-2020)",the thesis puts forwardrelevant countermeasures for the rational use of construction land in each designated urbanplanning areas.The paper is divided into six parts:Chapter I: Introduction. This part points out the research background, purpose andsignificance, also has a brief introduction to the dynamic research at home and abroad, anddescribes the idea, method and the major innovation of this paper.Chapter II: a Overview of relative theories. This chapter defines the basic concepts of“designated urban planning area”,” construction land”, expounds some associated theoriessuch as land supply and demand theory, the principle of land using and zoning, sustainabledevelopment theory, as to make a theoretical preparation for this followed research.Chapter III: The current utilize and layout profile of construction land in Tongchuan’sdesignated urban planning area. Describes the overview of current development of Tongchuan,summarize the construction land’s profile and distribution, and divided the designated urban planning area into the north area, the south area and the green corridor, then analysis theirstatus of construction land one by one.Chapter IV: The construction land supply and demand analysis of Tongchuan designatedurban planning area. According to the urban development goals in "Urban Comprehensiveplanning Outline of the Tongchuan city(2005-2020)", combined with existing data, this thesisanalysis the construction land supply and demand in the north area, the south area and thegreen corridor qualitatively.Chapter V: Suggestions in construction land utilize and layout of designated urbanplanning area in Tongchuan. Combined with Development goals of Tongchuan City and theland use survey of each districts, this thesis makes specific recommendations for the northarea, the south area and the green corridor on the constriction land utilize.Chapter VI: Conclusions. This chapter is an overall summary of the paper,it summarizethe survey of construction land utilize and layout in each district and the suggestions toimprove the current situation.
