As a studied object where the author works, the performance management system wasanalyzed to find the current problems and probe into the optimization plan to implement theperformance management.As a leader in the field of testing and certification, N company is still small in the SouthChina as its headquarter has grown and been strong. When facing much fiercer competitionenvironment, the performance management was implemented to improve the company andstaff’s performance and heighten the position in this industry. It is obviously important.However, more and more problems appeared when the performance management system wasbeing implemented. Now, in this text look for and identify the current problems and thenanalyze their reasons. Then probe into the change approach of the optimization of theperformance management system when following some certain principles, such as obeyingobjective, emphasizing feedback and improvement, etc.When optimizing the performance management system, firstly plot the strategic mapaccording to the current corporate strategy, then design the company, department andemployees’ performance index by using tools of BSC and KPI. And then focus on optimizingthe system, and create a good soft environment through train and optimize the relevantsystems and policies through the project performance. And so build the base to implement theperformance management. Then a closed loop is made, consisting of planning, implementing,evaluating and employing to continuously improve and optimize the systems, and lead toimprovement of the company and staff’s, and improve the management level.In this text, by using the method of combing theory with practice and tools of balancedscorecard and key performance index and strategic performance management, formulate theplan to optimize of the implementation of performance management systems. Finally, find outsome key points when PMS is being implemented by contrast the origin and updated PMS, soto implement PMS become more feasible.N headquarter, is advanced with the complete management system. But N company inSouth China is small and in the beginning without complete system and policies. So analyzeand research the problems and defects, probe into the optimization scheme of PMS. All thesewill be for the reference when implementing PMS in the same or similar company.
