In the era of knowledge economy, high-tech enterprises are in the changeable economic and technical environment. In order to hold competence and market advantage, it was needed to get more resources and innovation capability to achieve flexibility in market responsiveness. With the core of high-tech innovation, knowledge economy was based on knowledge. For high-tech enterprises, comprehensive and systematic innovation capability calls for the ability to gain and integrate knowledge resources from both external and internal, so as to hold advantage in competitions. And relational capital will significantly promote the innovation capability. As a important source of gaining external knowledge resources, relational capital was special, inimitable, and difficult to replace, and will add more valuable knowledge resource to high-tech enterprises, which will help these enterprises to get more advantage for a long term. Thus, we discussed the impact of high-tech relational capital on innovation capability.Based on relational capability and theories of knowledge management, we suppose there are three dimensions of relational capability which includes trust, commitment, and effective conflict management. Then we analyzed the mechanism of their impact on innovation capability, and also the mesmeric effect of knowledge assimilation capability between innovation capability and relational capital. Finally, we got a modal of the impact of relational capital on innovation capability with knowledge assimilation capability as mesmeric variable. Then hypotheses were based on these theoretical analyses, and we collected data from high-tech enterprises by questionnaires. The data was analyzed using validity and reliability analysis, variance analysis, regression analysis. The results showed that all three dimensions of relational capital had significant positive impact on innovation capability; knowledge assimilation capability had significant positive impact on innovation capability; and knowledge assimilation capability played a significant mesmeric role between relational capital and innovation capability. Finally, we proposed specific manageable advice (1) more relational capability are needed to gain more external knowledge resources (2) knowledge assimilation will enhance innovation capability. Overall, long-term external relations and knowledge assimilation capability are both significant for the development of enterprises. We also pointed out the future research direction to provide researchers some help.
