Intermediate business is one of the three pillar businesses, it is an important pillar of the business that the commercial banks facing the competition of commercial banks in western developed country,meeting the challenge of globalization and enhancing the economy actual strength of oneself. In recent years Chinese commercial banks pay more and more attention to the innovation of the development about the intermediate business, and they gradually realize the significance that the intermediate business is taken as one of the three pillar businesses in commercial banks.Compared with the intermediate business of commercial bank in western developed country, the level about intermediate business of commercial bank in china has a considerable upgrade space. The development about intermediate business of ICBC occupies certain advantages in the five major state-owned commercial banks. Therefore this article uses the analysis about intermediate business of ICBC to make people understand the status of development about the intermediate business of commercial banks in China. Making great efforts for the development of intermediate business in ICBC meets the need of the development of ICBC and the epoch, and it is the main method that ICBC perfecting the function of service, developing profit channel,reducing the operating risk, adjusting the structure of income and raising the economic benefits.To draw lessons from the relative literature theory of the development about intermediate business of domestic and foreign, the article analyses the development about intermediate business of ICBC.In the structural arrangement, the author elaborates the problems of the development about intermediate business in commercial banks by dividing into six parts.The first part is introduction. The introduction is divided into the following sections:the background and researching significance of the topic selection, literature review at home and abroad, the structure frame and train of thought about the article, the innovation and shortcomings of the article.The second part is the development about intermediate business in commercial bank at home and abroad and its enlightenment. This part introduces the definition, classification, effect and risk of intermediate business, and makes comparative analysis about the development of intermediate business in commercial bank at home and abroad.The third part is the situation and analysis about intermediate business in commercial bank. This section contains present situation of development about intermediate business in ICBC. The article makes comparative analysis for the level of intermediate business between the ICBC and commercial banks in western developed country, then points out that there are deficiencies in varieties of products, technology and the level of income. Last the article puts forward the related suggestions that ICBC must study from developed western countries.The fourth part is the analysis about development of intermediate business in commercial banks, and it is the core part of this paper. The previous article only makes a single empirical analysis, but this article makes analysis about situation of development about intermediate business in ICBC by two different types of analysis method. The first one is SWOT analysis, and the second one is empirical analysis. The article makes SWOT analysis about overall situation and empirical analysis about local influence factors of intermediate business in ICBC. Then it points out the internal strengths and weaknesses, external opportunities and threats of the level of intermediate business in ICBC. Meanwhile the article points out the different effects of the portion of financial index in ICBC to its development of intermediate business.The fifth part is the strategy options and related recommendations. The article puts forward specific strategy of development for further enhancing the ability of intermediate business and my own suggestions for further guiding the pattern of development in intermediate business.The last part is the conclusion and prospect. ICBC should make full use of its own strong internal environment advantages, and try to overcome the faced threats of external environment. Thus it obtains the long-term effective development about intermediate business, and it hopes to play the role of enlightenment for other commercial banks.
