The Tourist Industry in China is soaring rapidly with the advancement of domesticeconomics and the life quality of citizens. As a traditional and important part of the touristindustry, the Tourist Souvenir Industry is always profitable, featured with a large variety ofproduct and a lack of personal products. Compared with other products in China, theTourist Souvenir Products in Wuhan have many disadvantages considering their commondesigns, low quality, and the absence of the city factors, which makes these productsunattractive. In sum, the Tourist Souvenir Industry must be promoted. After fully analysisof the Creative Industry and the Tourist Resources in Wuhan, a way to promote the TouristSouvenir Industry is figured out with the help of the Creative Industry, which can makethe traditional industry popular and increase the quantities of elegant Tourist SouvenirProducts.The Tourist Souvenir Industry promoting process is researched in this thesis consists ofthe strategies and the methods. Firstly, three main strategies are proposed considering theimportance of the experts and the analysis results of the resources in Wuhan. Secondly,though dividing the products in three groups based on their qualities, a classified designstudy result of Tourist Souvenir Products in Wuhan is obtained. Thirdly, the possibility ofthe creative design is concluded after fundamentally analysis of the three classicalmethods and the essence of creative design of the Tourist Souvenirs in Wuhan.A test research has been done based on the Creative Studio with a willing to make these“Ideas” practical. Practical products have been designed in two steps integrating theresearch results in Chapter4. In the first step, three groups of Campus Tourist SouvenirsProducts are designed with different styles displaying the characteristics of HuazhongUniversity of Sci&Tech, and produced in small quantities for test sales. Then, theevaluation and analysis of the products are concluded as the directions of the design andproduction of the second step. Finally, the Creative Tourist Souvenir Products are designedbased on the conclusion of the first step.
