21century is the era of knowledge economy. Human Resource has become the most significant resource for the modern economy development. HR management is the core of corporate management and performance evaluation is an important part of corporate HR management. Effective performance evaluation can improve employees’ performance and help the company to answer to the challenges brought by the3C era (Change, Competition and Complex). The focal point and difficult point to establish performance evaluation system is to design Key Performance Indicator. Company must continuously evaluate and modify its Key Performance Indicators and evaluation process to ensure that the evaluation system can reflect the environment change and organizational goal. The essential purpose to apply performance evaluation is to promote performance. The key is to improve employees’capability and quality. It is an HR development process.This thesis systematically clarified and summarized the relative concepts, classification and origin of Performance Evaluation System and analyzed the development history and new features of Performance Evaluation System in China and western countries. Through in-depth research on the current performance evaluation system in China, this thesis elaborated the design and building method of performance evaluation indicator system. This thesis provides theoretical value for corporate performance evaluation managers.Based on the implementation status of the performance evaluation indicator system in Company LP, the author analyzed the existing problems and designed a set of questionnaires on the implementation status and demand for Performance Evaluation Indicator System. Research has been done on the current situation and expectations for improvements. Through analyzing the data, improving and modifying the current performance evaluation system, summarizing the concepts, origin and process of the performance indicator system designing in the corporate, department and jobs,and applying the design method, Company LP’s KPI system has been improved systematically, hierarchically and scientifically. The effectiveness of a system depends on effective implementation. This thesis also put forward detailed improvement approach to realizing effective KPI system from aspects of structure, strategy, information, and culture.This thesis combined normative research and case study, focusingon systematical analysis, to solve the practical problem in the companies.
