With the accelerated process of urbanization, rural-urban gap is widening, urban and rural areas have become an inevitable trend of development of the urban-rural relations. The "12th Five-Year" Plan, as soon as possible to adjust and optimize the structure and layout of urban and rural land, the establishment of the tasks of the land for construction of a unified market. Thus, In the background of rapid development of economy and increasingly prominent contradiction between human beings and land, analyzing the current situation of land use objectively, exploring the law of temporal and spatial variation of land use and revealing the social and economic changing force which results in the change of land use have important significance on adjusting and developing related to sustainable land use policies, as well as urban and rural development is of great significance. In this paper, the urban and rural comprehensive reform experimental zone in Chengdu Pi County for the study. Using the built database of land use as a data source and dynamic change models of land use to analyze space-time dynamic changes of land use in Pi county from2000to2009, exploring laws of its land use; applying the method of principal component analysis to seek the social and economic changing factors which result in the change of land use. The findings are:(1)From2000to2009, in Pi County, the arable land, residential land and industrial land were the dominant ways of land use. Although the proportion of arable land decreased from64.6%in2000to56.92%in2009, arable land was still the land use type which occupied the county’s largest area; the proportion of residential and industrial land increased from21.15%in2000to28.39%in2009, but their area still ranked second; the unutilized land was only0.20%of the county’s total area in2009, the reserve resource which can be developed into arable land was very limited.(2)The analysis on quantity change of land use included analysis on range and velocity of land use change. The results showed that land use had a big change scope from2000to2009in Pi county, generally, arable land, other agricultural land, waters and unutilized land all significantly reduced, while garden land, woodland, residential land, industrial land and transportation land increased year by year, arable land decreased most among them, up to3359.68hectares; residential and industrial land increased most, up to3167.24hectares. From high to low, the change rate of land use types were the rate of residential and industrial land, transportation land, farmland, garden land, forest land, other agricultural land, unutilized land and water, besides, residential and industrial land occupied3.80%, the waters occupied-0.25%; the dynamic rate of comprehensive land use generally showed a gradual increase tendency, especially in2003the change even more significantly, the2006-2009land-use integrated dynamic, up9.51percent.(3)The analysis on the change of degree of land use, including the comprehensive index of degree of land use, the variable quantity of degree of land use and the change rate. The results showed that the average degree of change was in a slow rise state from2000to2009in the entire Pi county, in2003, the index change is more significant, especially in2007-2009, the most prominent changes, under the steady progress of the urban-rural integration, the overall level of land use was very high; the extent of land use in various regions diminished from central area to townships in outer suburbs; the county’s overall change rate of land use degree was above zero, land use has gone through a stage of rapid development.(4) The change analysis on the spatial pattern of land use, including analysis on the diversification, centralization, location significance and landscape pattern of land use structure, the results showed that diversification degree of land use in Pi county was rather high from the whole angle; the centralization degree of land use was quite high, mainly focus on woodland, garden land, unused land, residential land and industrial land; the distribution of various land patterns in different regions had different regional significance; diversity index of land use increased from1.094to1.167, the index of evenness degree increased from0.526to0.561, while the index of dominance degree decreased from0.985to0.912. The county as a whole to promote under the guidance of the comprehensive reform of urban and rural areas, land use type in the county transferred from oneness to diversify, namely, broken degree of land use/land cover was gradually strengthened.(5) There were obvious regional differences on the quantity change of land use, to reflect regional differences of land use change in Pi County through the relative change rate of land use. The results show that:2000-2009, each region advancing "The six integration","Three Concentration "and" four basic engineering "degree of implementation, resulting in the central area is the most obvious changes in the type of residential and industrial land, the relative rate of change was1.02; it was the most prominent that the change of transportation land in the peri-urban areas and its relative rate of change was1.10; in the outer suburbs, except for residential areas and mining garden outside, farmland, forest land, garden land and land for traffic, land use changes are is obvious.(6) The results of analysis on factors indicated that in Pi county, the change of land use was mainly caused by human activities, especially in urban and rural development of the environment, except the restriction of policy factors, economic development, population growth, industrial structure and technological progress were the main changing factors which caused that land use had a greater change, the extent of their impact from high to low in order are economic development, population growth, industrial structure and technical level.(7) According to land-use under coordinating urban and rural background of the problems in the process of rapid change in Pi County, should be taken to protect arable land, improve land economical and intensive utilization level, strict control of population size, adjust the relationship between the three major industries, optimizing industrial structure, strengthen urban and rural land use dynamicchanges in monitoring, establish and improve urban and rural land use management mechanism to establish the concept of sustainable use of land resources and other countermeasures, in order to optimize the urban and rural land use structure, and promote sustainable land use and urban and rural development.
