The cashmere knitted fabric has comfortable and warm properties, and good handle.However, the pilling of cashmere knitted fabric influences seriously its appearance, which isa main research topic for enterprises and researchers.Now, the yarn processing method is mainly ring spinning and mule spinning. In thiswork, the properties of ring cashmere yarn and mule cashmere yarn, such tensile property,yarn evenness, and wear-resistant property, were compared. It was obtained that the actualyarn linear density of ring cashmere yarn was less than that of designed yarn linear density,and actual yarn linear density of mule cashmere yarn was more than that of designed yarnlinear density. The tensile strength of black cashmere yarn was low, and the tensile strengthof beige cashmere yarn was high. The tensile strength of mule cashmere yarn was more thanthat of ring cashmere yarn. The evenness, CVm, thickness (+35%), and nep(+200%) of mulecashmere yarn was slightly less than that of ring cashmere yarn. The wear-resistant numberof mule cashmere yarn was slightly higher than of ring cashmere yarn.The same plain knit structure and the same density cashmere knitted fabric made ofring cashmere yarn and mule cashmere yarn was processed using a hand-driven flat knittingmachine. Then, the fabric was finished by washing and milling method, and pilling rate ofcashmere knitted fabric was tested using box pilling tester in different test time, such as2h,3h,4h, and5h. The worn-off weight of sample was weighed. When test time was5h, thepilling rate of cashmere knitted fabric made of ring yarn was2, but the pilling rate ofcashmere knitted fabric made of mule yarn was2-3. The pilling-resistant of cashmereknitted fabric of mule yarn is better than that of ring yarn. The worn-off weight of samplesof mule yarn was less than that of samples of ring yarn for the same test time. The worn-offweight of samples of black yarn and beige yarn was high, and the worn-off weight ofsamples of black yarn had a high increasing with the increase of test time. Set fulling time,fulling temperature, fulling agent content, and softening agent as experimental factors inorthogonal experimental, it was obtained that fulling time had significant effect on pilling rates and worn-off weight of cashmere knitted fabric.
