Analysis On Architectural Space Of Dacheng Hall, Confucious Temple In Plain Eara

Confucian Temple is a monument to Confucius, a great philosopher, educator and founder ofConfucianism. It was originally used to worship Confucius. Then schools were built because of ConfuciousTemple or the other way around. Later, during the development of Confucious Temple, many celebritiesand learners were invited to be served and honored. All of these make the connotation ofConfucious’Temple continuously expand and its significance is far beyond its initial Memorial functionThe paper firstly analyzes and induces the development of Confucian Temple, the culturalorigin of Confucius thought, the emergence and development of Confucian Temple and its type. Then itresearches Confucian Temple from time (longitudinal), regional (transverse), function aspects. And thenit leads to the study object of this thesis Dacheng hall, Dacheng Hall of Confucious’Temple in Plain Eara.Nowadays the repair and rehabilitation work about Confucious’Temple and Dacheng Hall are in progress todifferent degree. The revision and research work about Confucious temple is not only good for itsprotection and utilization, but it can also create new social value.From professional point of view and in accordance with the elements of Dacheng Hall:foundation, wall, column, beam, brackets, grille windows, painting, the paper analyzes and summaries thecomposition of Dacheng Hall’s space aesthetics and architectural design approach. In the end it givesproposals about the antique architectural design and cultural relics protection. The research concludes: atpresent, the research mostly focuses on the development of Confucious temple, building constructionsystem and sacrificial rites and so on. But research on the combination of space and architectural aestheticsof Dacheng Hall is not enough. And deep research on the space of Confucious temple, especially the spaceof of Dacheng Hall is even more inadequate. Meanwhile, there are problems in the use of the space ofthis precious traditional building. The paper will do research and investigation on the aesthetics ofarchitectural space and appearance design of Dacheng Hall, Confucious temple in Plain Eara from aprofessional point of view.The paper is written based on historical documents and research results and according to thefour Dacheng Halls in the Plain Eara, which are conserved in different levels. Meanwhile, it is also the result of summary and analysis on the first hand information gained by measuring, visiting andphotographing.
