In recent years, with the development of China’s construction industry, the outputvalue of construction industry plays a more and more important role in GDP. Because ofimproving of construction science and technology, the scale of project have increasedand the structure been more complex, thus the owners have put forward higherrequirements on construction progress. Construction schedule management is animportant content in the field of engineering project management, and the managementeffectiveness will directly affect the normal operation of the project, which will relate tothe project’s economic and social benefits. The importance on early warning ofconstruction progress is arised.From the point of software development at present stage, problems in the field of riskearly warning cannot be resolved by relying on traditional construction schedulemanagement software such as Project, P3etc. As the developing of Building InformationModel (referred to as BIM), we can solve these problems better through the application ofBIM technology. BIM represents the future develop trend of the building design,construction management and property management, etc. which has a positive andfar-reaching influence on construction industry. In the developed countries’ constructionfield collaborative design, sustainable building and building prefabricated component, etc.have got some successful application. Research and application of BIM technology inChina are still in the transition stage, and there is a lack of the application of BIM inconstruction schedule management. So the value of BIM has not attracted enough attention.This article introduces BIM technology in the field of early warning of constructionproject risk, and solves an important goal of project: the risk of project schedule. By readinga lot of reading literature at home and abroad, the paper analyses problems in the schedulerisk management field, and puts forward the application of BIM in schedule risk earlywarning of adaptability. This project applies the IFC data standards, and uses Navisworks: aconstruction management software as a platform. Based on the c#language, the paperdevelops the prototype of this early warning system and verifies the project risk earlywarning model proposed. Finally, based on risk analysis results obtained, the paper uses theactual data verifies and corrects the risk early warning platform.This paper relates to the cutting edge of BIM technology. The result benefits thedevelopment in the field of project risk analysis, which has important theoretical significanceand practical application value, and it provides reference for subsequent research.
