After nearly20years, the highways in our country have entered into the maintenancestage and a lot of problems have appeared continuously. It can be mainly manifested in twoaspects, the first one is early damage of asphalt pavement is more serious; The second one isthe phenomenon of “abutment jump car” has been leaded because of abutment partcombined with the road subgrade uneven settlement. The main cause of these problems isthat the compaction of foundation is insufficient. In order to solve the engineering problem,it urgently needs a kind of specified compact machinery which is strong applicability, goodcompaction and high efficiency. So the research of the high-speed hydraulic tamper isproduced by this.1t high-speed hydraulic tamper(referred to as HHT-1)brings advantages such ashigher impact energy, greater effect depth and convenient transition. It can be applied to notonly common plane compaction but inclined diagonal compaction. Furthermore, its impactenergy can be adjusted to adapt for different subgrade, so it is widely applied in theinfrastructure industry.In this paper, after analyzing development situation at home and abroad of hydraulictamper, dynamic analysis is made for its working process which is based on the study oframming machine working principle and the displacement and speed function is obtained.By using the theory of wave mechanics, it analyzes the reasonable waveform and thecorresponding shape of rammer with the goal of maximizing energy, which provides atheoretical basis for the tamper and base. Then, ANSYS analysis software is used to analyzeimpact process of the tamper and base by explicit dynamic analysis. It also obtains the peakstress and strain, and makes fatigue strength check. At last, the hydraulic system is designedon the compacting machine working principle, and simulation analysis is made by AMESim.The displacement and velocity curves and activity index of the system is obtained which haslaid the foundation for simplifying the hydraulic system.
