Quayside container crane which is also called as quay crane is the main handlingequipment. It affects a lot to container transport that whether it has a good work pacingand efficiency. With the continuous development of economic globalization, logisticstransportation especially maritime traffic presents a more and more busy trend. So itrequires more to quayside container crane. Transport ship trends to be bigger, moreautomated and more intelligentized. In order to meet this trend, quayside container craneshould go the same way.When quayside container crane works for the transport ships, the bodies of ships rockregularly because of surge. However sea condition material about world coastline showsthat level3or above sea conditions appear in57%of the whole time. Waves of5metersand8seconds make ships lifting in2meters and rocking in2~3degrees. It draws aconclusion that research about quayside container crane having wave compensation deviceis significant. The closed system composed of bidirectional variable pump and quantitativemotor fits the high power speed regulation system because of simple structure, reliableperformance and high efficiency.This paper makes use of traditional PID control principle. Motor rotation, liftingspeed of ships and control signal are the inputs of control system. It achieves the goal tokeep a relatively stable speed between lifting goods and ships. This method cancompensate the wave effect and improve efficiency and safety.The model is based on AMESim simulation. It can prove whether the system cantarget the goal. At the same time, deficiency of the system can be found by settingdifferent parameters. In this way, the system can be improved and optimized. This paperbuilds model of pump-control-motor speed governing system and PID controller. Besides,it improves accuracy of compensation by optimizing parameters based on simulation.
