Considering the complexity of the automobile engine structure and the harshenvironment where it worked, automobile engines may easily occurred mechanicalfaults. As the "heart" of the automobile, the running state of engines has animmediate impact on the normal running of the vehicle and its safety. Therefore,thecondition monitory of the automobile engine becomes one of the hottest researchfields for the experts at home and abroad. The CAN bus, as one of the mostpromising field buses, has good characteristics such as unique design,good featureset, high reliability, and strong ability of anti-interference. Therefore,it CANprovide a new solution for high reliability of data transmission in industrial system.The real-time monitoring of the automobile engine which based on CAN bus is oneof the relatively advanced and reliable engine monitoring.In this paper, an engine parameter acquisition system is designed based on CAN.The system makes a full use of the high-speed and high security features of CAN busto acquire and display each main real-time parameter of the engine. Through theCAN bus communication and the work of the system I desired in this paper,weCAN get a real-time display which based on PC and SecureCRT terminal emulationsoftware as well as Delphi visualization software development tools.From thepractical point,the system CAN achieve a real-time display of the main parametersof the engine components, it CAN conveniently monitor the operating conditions ofthe engine and evaluate the engine validly. The hardware components of the systemmainly includes the power circuit,control circuit and so on. The softwarecomponents of the system includes the initialization of the CAN controller device,CAN receiver, CAN sending and data acquisition,on the basis of the softwaredesigned after the hardware, it CAN reach the purpose of the system—-to achieve thereal-time acquisition and display of the engine parameters.Finally, the results show that, the system in this paper CAN acquire theparameter and display of the engine accurate effectively and it CAN achieve thedesired results.
