In recent years, the trend of the integration of the world economy is dramaticallyincreases. Particularly in the construction industry, the highly competitive situation forced usto have to abandon the traditional management with unplanned and disorder and introducescientific and efficient project management methods to improve the efficiency and quality ofthe construction. In that case, this paper insists that we should introduce the LeanConstruction to project management. In the hope that the simple and clean discussion of theLean Construction can give some references to the practice working of project management.The main research work of this paper are:Firstly, this paper details the theory of Lean Construction. Lean Construction originatedfrom manufacturing. But the procedure and product of construction are very different frommanufacturing whether in form or in feature. After explaining the theory of LeanConstruction, this paper analyses the features of construction product and gives thecomparison analysis of the construction and manufacturing on the procedure. The thoroughstudy can accelerate the implementation and application of the Lean Construction in projectmanagement.Secondly, this paper describe the idea of the application of the Lean Construction inproject management in details. The TFV theory is the most concise summary of LeanConstruction. On this basis, this paper presents the thought that pay more attention to theintegration of design and construction, by reducing the variation to increase the quality,project standardization management and improve the application of Value Engineering. Theapplication can bring in useful references and insure the application of Lean Construction inproject management.Thirdly, on the basis of the study of project management, this paper presents thepreliminary evaluation system of project management. By distributing the project into fourstages, we can analysis and improve the crucial and key tasks conveniently. The projectmanagement can work efficiently and orderly.Lastly, this paper presents an new evaluation method which integrates fuzzy theory,AHP and TOPSIS. By evaluating and analysing the specific projects, this method can learnand develop the ideal plan, improve the plan which less than ideal and insure the efficientapplication of Lean Construction in construction.
