With the development tendency of large-scale, automation&energy conservation for theMarine merchant vessel.The continuity, reliability&Power supply quality of Ship powersystem will play a increasingly important role for the economic indicator、 technicalspecification&vitality during her service period. Ship power system is the vital componentfor the ship and it is a unity which integrates by Power station、distribution equipment、Shippower network&Load with some certain manners. It has the unique importance for economicnavigation&safety of Ship as well as the production、transmission、distribution&consumingof Ship power. This article is based on the research of power system design for48000DWToil tanker, Illustrated the design&construction phases of marine power system by theexperiences which were gained from the participation of project. The detailed contentsincluding the design of power equipment、design of power network、design of protection formarine power system and so on. Taking this Oil tanker as an example, this paper may serveas a useful reference for electrical system design of similar type ships.
