On The Annotation Of Du Fu’s Poetry By Yuanchang Lu

The Annotation of Du fu’s Poetry by Yuanchang Lu is an influencial hermeneuticworks of Du fu’s complete poetry during the reign of Emperor Kang Xi in QingDynasty. However, it has not been punctuated and collated yet. This paper is supposedto going on the pioneering research on the works. It is mainly disscussed from thefollowing three aspects. Firstly, it has discussed the stylistic rules of its annotationfrom the point of explanary notes on the titles, and the comments and narrations ofDufu’s poetry. Secondly, it has explained the annotation characteristics from the pointof “Bi Xing” and “Practical Learning Ideas”. Thirdly, it has made commets on itseditions, diffusion process as well as its contributions and influences. The paper viewsthat the interpretation of connotation on Du Fu’s poetry by Lu is based on hisscholastic backgrounds, the Practical Learning Ideas, and Historical Semantics andphonology, which not only shows a kind of practical and realistic way by seekingtruth from the history of poetry，but able to explain reasonalby the artistic expressionsabout the texts exiting in fine and subtle ways. And all of above make it a uniqueannotation works of Du fu’s poetry in the early Qing Dynasty. In addition, on the basisof collection and organization of Yuanchang Lu’s biography, poetry, and academicworks, the paper has provided a simple chronicles of Yuanchang Lu’s life in appendix.Hopefully, it could get professional advice from scholars.
