Accompanied by the development of the Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, ChineseLiterature has been confirmed as an important part of the Teaching Chinese as a ForeignLanguage by the scholars and teachers. Literary textbook is very important to Literature course.Teaching effect of Literature depends on the redaction of the textbook.The paper focuses on five anthologies of second language, including Chinese and English.In order to improve the edition of Chinese anthology, the paper tries to describe thecharacteristics of the five anthologies from four aspects, and then finds out the insufficiency thatexisting in the Chinese anthologies, according to the comparison between Chinese anthology andEnglish anthology.The research indicates that the edition of Chinese anthologies has deficiencies on fouraspects. Firstly, the theme of literary selections, part of which may even be unacceptable toforeign learners, can’t be assigned to keep a right proportion; also the editing process is short ofinteractive sections. Secondly, the editing style can’t reflect the feature of anthology properly.Thirdly, neither the total amount of literary selections nor the assignment of literary styles shouldbe revised. Fourthly, the idea of editing can’t keep pace with the time.
